Raymond Murphy

Raymond Murphy, who served 做厙TV as an electrician until his retirement in 1997, died Sept. 1, 2021. He was 88.  

Ray was hired by 做厙TV in 1973 and was later promoted to lead electrician. Colleagues described Rays dedication to his job and the 做厙TV community. 

He was always looking out for his workers and wanted to ensure that students had a good experience at 做厙TV, said Electrician Bob Benson. He always did the job right and did everything professionally. 

Born June 8, 1933, in Ballston Spa, he graduated from Ballston Spa High School. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Europe. A lifelong Cleveland sports fan, he was a longtime high school and college basketball referee and baseball umpire.  

Family also described his dedication to his sons Jay (Maria) of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, and Lee (Christine) of Gansevoort, as well as to his grandchildren, Allison, Cole, Tommy, Danny and Katie. His beloved wife of 47 years, Linda, predeceased him.
