Course Withdrawal without grade penalty deadline

  • You will handle your own drops on line without signature. Please complete the drops as soon as you know that you will not remain enrolled, since this may open a seat for someone who really wants it. After September 23, you may leave a class only by requesting a withdrawal and using the paper Withdrawal Form. Please note that the Committee on Academic Standing (CAS) rarely approves late drop requests. The last day to withdraw from a course is November 12.
  • During the first week of the semester, you may add open classes on line without a signature. There are a few exceptions, including the Scribner Seminars and sections where the faculty member has made special arrangements with the Registrar's Office.

  • A fair number of sections have waitlists associated with them. As slots become available, students are notified and have a specified time to enroll themselves (prior to Sept 14). If you are on a waitlist, keep checking your °µÍøTV email. If you no longer wish to be enrolled, please delete it from your schedule.
  • Starting Monday, September 14, you will need to use the Late Add form, found on the Registrar Forms page to add any course to your schedule.  This initial deadline is in place to ensure that you have touched base with the instructor so they can get you up to speed in the course as quickly as possible. you will need an instructor’s approval to add anything to your schedule.

  • Any new registration after September 23 will be reviewed by CAS and if you have missed a full two weeks classes the add could be denied, regardless of instructor approval.  Please make your enrollment decisions on time and begin your academic work immediately. This is important for getting off to the right start.

  • *The College criterion for Satisfactory is the equivalent of a C or better (not C-). A student may take no more than one course in a semester for an S/U grade, excluding courses that are only offered S/U. A student may take a maximum of 16 credit hours for an S/U grade, excluding internships. The S/U option is offered at the discretion of the department or the instructor of the course. The semester schedule will indicate which courses may be taken for an S/U grade. Students must indicate their choice of the S/U grade option at the time of registration. No change may be made after the deadline published on the academic calendar.
