Scribner Seminar Program
Course Description
Wonder, Love & Sex
Instructor(s): Silvia Carli, Philosophy
An exploration of the wonder and complexity of love, desire, and intimacy. Students will examine the modern landscape of romance—from campus "hookup culture" to the influence of social and gendered perspectives—by connecting contemporary life with classical theories of eros, mindful compassion, and the "art of loving." Through a dialogue between philosophy, sociology, and film, students will critically evaluate their own beliefs on human connections to determine how these relationships shape a meaningful life.
